What to Expect
If this is your first time to schedule a massage, you may have several questions.
One of the first things your massage therapist will want to know is why you are getting a massage. An experienced massage therapist will plan the session to address your needs. The most common reasons are:
- General Relaxation
- Revitalization
- Relieve Sore or Tight Muscles
- Relieve Tension
- Headaches
- Recovery from Sports Activity
- General Health and Fitness
- Improve Circulation
- Complement Other Health Care
Discuss with the massage therapist any concerns you have about your session. It's important that you feel comfortable during the massage.
You'll be covered with a sheet during your session, and you may choose to be totally or partially unclothed underneath the drape. Massage sessions will last between 30 minutes to 90 minutes.
Your therapist will want to know if you have any medical conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, recent surgery or fractures. If so, also consult with your physicians for any restrictions and get an approval before receiving a massage.
At the end of your massage, toxins will be released in your body. It's important that you drink plenty of water after your treatment.
Feel free to ask questions and let the therapist know if you are uncomfortable at any time. Above all, relax and enjoy your massage!
